Purpose
The Judicial Branch is committed to supporting and participating in public education programs designed to enhance understanding of the justice system.

The Speakers Bureau maintains a panel of Judges and other court officials interested in speaking to community audiences on a wide range of court-related topics.

The Speakers Bureau was created to help judges around the state share their areas of expertise with you. The range of topics, which our speakers are available to address, reflect the diversity of the Connecticut Judiciary.

The Speakers Bureau can help you find a speaker which will be appropriate to your audience. Please note, our speakers will accept requests as their commitments allow.

How to use the Speakers Bureau
To request a speaker, or for assistance in identifying topics or speakers call, write or E-mail to:

Information you will need with your request:
  • Your name, e-mail address and telephone number.
  • Name of your organization.
  • Date, time and place of the meeting.
  • Nature of the occasion and size of audience*.
  • Amount of time for presentation.
  • Topic and/or speaker desired.

*Note: Please plan to have a minimum of 20 attendees.


What a judge will talk about:
  • Some background information about him or her
  • What motivated him or her to become a judge
  • The appointment process
  • The judge’s assignments and the different experiences he or she have had while serving as a judge
  • How the judge’s personal and professional life changed once he or she became a judge
  • Changes the judges has witnessed in the court system since becoming a judge
  • Biggest challenges as a judge
  • Most interesting case
  • Most difficult case the judge had to decide
